Do you remember making things for your Mom on Mother’s Day at school? Were you the one who spent HOURS picking the right colour, choosing the perfect picture, colouring SO neatly?
I remember making a recipe book for Mom when I was about 9 or 10. Often an impatient child, and a perfectionist to boot, projects like this weren’t really for me! This one, though, was different. I remember cutting out the pieces and putting the pages together – taking my time and really doing a good job on it. I was so proud of that book! I wrapped it in home-made paper and proudly carried it behind my back to deliver to Mom.
Mom carefully peeled back the wrapper to discover this recipe book – and you would have thought I had invented the written word! The praise! The Love!
Years later, while helping Mom downsize, I came across this recipe book, carefully tucked away in an envelope. I felt her praise and more, her love, all over again.
